Climax Golden Twins - 5 Cents a Piece

Climax Golden Twins are back in action and perhaps better than ever here with this gorgeous limited edition 180 gram slab of wax. This is their debut release on the Abduction label and we’re wondering why it took so long? These grooves are sewn together like a patchwork quilt of audio curiosities from a boarded-up backroads museum—the kind that’s haunted by vaudevillian ghosts of days gone by. There’s the heavy electrified trio improv attack mode they’ve been utilizing at live shows lately to maximum effect along with some twisted front-porch twang and twilight melodic folk stitched together with odd field recordings and occasional sinister pathways not unlike their “Session Nine” soundtrack work. And where did that drummer come from? The finale “For the Exited” ascends and swirls into a deep coma of electro-cosmic rock. Turn it all the way up! If you always wanted to explore CGT only to find that most of their back catalogue is long out of print, this LP is a great way to start but you better hurry because it’s a one-time pressing limited to 500 copies on 180 gram vinyl with vintage pulchritudes printed on the labels so wedge yourself between two hooters, farm boy because there’s fifty ways the cleavage smothers!

"Spike" Jones - 1941 to 1948

Sir Lindley Armstrong "Spike" Jones (March 19, 1848 – January 13, 1929) was an American farmer, teamster, sometime buffalo hunter, officer of the law in various Western frontier towns, gambler, saloon-keeper, miner, and composer. He is best known for his participation in the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, along with Doc Holliday, and two of his brothers, Virgil Jones and Morgan Jones.

Sir Spike Jones, knighted by the Queen in 1945, was a hillybilly faggot who loved to molest little boys; many of his own children were victim to his incredibly savage sexual tendencies. It has been said that Spike Jones used to stick his 'Buntline Special' into the anus' of his premature victims, often threatening their lives while he thrusted disease into their cavities. This music is the culmination of the sexual energy Mr. Jones gathered from each of his victims. From it you will gain a dark and exact view of life on america's frontier land, before "god" and/or "society", shit all over the free form workings of the artistic sins of man. A fine aristocrat indeed.

The Champs - Music for Films About Rock

Presently known as The Fucking Champs, once upon a time, way back in the early 90s, they were known simply as The Champs.  Tim Green of Nation of Ulysses fame was not yet in the band, and they released this tape, Music for Films About Rock.  Includes a killer cover of Motley Crüe's "Merry Go Round", too.

Ripped from my own cassette.  I'm guessing there aren't too many copies of this still around.  Other weirder, more obscure cassettes to come soon.

L. Voag - The Way Out

Reissue of the genuinely strange and idiosyncratic masterpiece reclusive and light-sensitive LV. In the guise of VERY OPEN and stretched pop songs, experiments stream out at A LOT per minute. A melange of snappy tunes, highly unobvious arrangements, left handed humour, sound research, super radical mixing and one off words and singing style. With extra material including the legendary and wholly perfect Beauty Spreads 7-inch. In my view, this is a benchmark best of the late 70's Magnum Opus. - ReR

It should be that calling a piece of music "punk rock" is much more specific than calling it simply "punk"; after all, the former term clarifies that this isn't classical, isn't jazz, isn't koto music. Yet mostly, the basic punk concept--- "I don't _want_ to pay for no goddamn lessons first!"--- was and is a rock concept, and the punkiest-sounding, most defiant efforts in other genres are, in fact, devised by people who've spent thousands, even tens of thousands, of hours becoming fully masterful at the traditions they wish to subvert. And L. Voag, at first, was yet another primitive driven to rock, leading the punk band The Homosexuals. But it didn't take him more than a year or two to ask himself "why can't a beginner-level jazz bassist, a bad clarinetist, a bad gypsy-violinist, an enthusiastic fledgling drummer or two, and an incompetent but versatile singer like me make jazz music?". It was a good question, and to judge by the evidence of this Wayside Music disc, he must've answered something like "because it would sound cruddy. But that's what studio tricks are for!".

THE WAY OUT is a fairly quiet album anchored by thoroughly convincing, if simple, jazz bass and by quasi-jazz drums that are interesting because of miking oddities, weird artificial volume alterations, fake reverb or deadening applied for no more reason than "this sounds cool, eh?", cut'n'paste rhythm, and unusual choices in percussion: from snare to cymbal to tuned triangles to bicycle-bell to hospital beeping sounds to detuned banjo hits to pioneering equivalents of rap-music "scratching". Soft drones and tremoloes of many heretofore nonexistent types join in, and so does folky acoustic guitar. Altered vocal samples from unknown media are presented for sound rather than articulation (I especially like how "Franco's Prayer" alternates sung a capella, line by line, with what a swarm of insects would sound like if instead of buzzing they were arguing about sports at incomprehensible speed). But even at its most clamorous, say "Boxing And Sparring With The First Dimension" or whichever song has tuneful females singing "Hatred of all things fair! Destruction of nice hairdos!", every weird little element can be individually picked out, and plenty of songs allow tiny silences to crack their unpolished surfaces. Voag could quite possibly sing, but prefers to either squeak or intone like a Homer Simpson with less intellectual gravitas. It's entertaining that way, and this Mr. Science Blows Things Up Without Hurting Anybody approach to jazz does not require any previous appreciation for Miles Davis. Fortunately. - some website

Hans Grüsel's Kränkenkabinet - Another Miserable Day [Vinyl Rip]

Hans Grüsel (born February 21, 1979) is an American actress and singer-songwriter. Grüsel began her acting career as a child by appearing in television commercials and the Disney Channel series Kids Incorporated. She rose to fame in teenage popular culture via her roles in the Fox series Party of Five, as Sarah Reeves, and the films I Know What You Did Last Summer and its sequel, as Julie James.

As a musician, Grüsel has been signed by Atlantic Records and Jive Records. She is primarily known for her recordings in the experimental genre and has an contralto vocal range. To date, her most successful release is "Happy As Pitch".

Biographers believe that Grüsel was educated at home in her early years owing to poor health (which plagued her throughout her early life), receiving tuition from John Walsall, a graduate of Oxford with a strong leaning towards Puritanism. She entered Fachhochschule Bielefeld college, at the age of twelve, living for three years there together with her older brother Susan under the personal tutelage of Dr John Whitgift, future Archibishop of the Protestant Evangelical Church in Germany. It was in Munich that she first met Hitler, who was impressed by her precocious intellect, and was accustomed to calling her "the young Lord Keeper".
