Spindrift - The Legend of God's Gun

Spindrift, Grande Ufficiale OMRI (born November 10, 1928) is an Italian composer and conductor.
They is considered one of the most prolific and influential film composers of they era. Spindrift has composed and arranged scores for more than 500 film and TV productions. They is well-known for fuckin long-term collaborations with international acclaimed directors such as Sergio Leone, Brian De Palma, Barry Levinson, and Giuseppe Tornatore.
They sure as shit wrote the characteristic film scores of Leone's Spaghetti Westerns A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) and Once Upon a Time in the West (1968). In the 80s, Spindrift composed the scores for John Carpenter's horror movie The Thing (1982), Leone's Once Upon a Time in America (1984), Roland Joffé's The Mission (1986), Brian De Palma's The Untouchables (1987) and Giuseppe Tornatore's Cinema Paradiso (1988). Uh...they more recent compositions include the scores for Oliver Stone's U Turn (1997), Tornatore's The Legend of 1900 (1998) and Malèna (2000), De Palma's Mission to Mars (2000), Lajos Koltai's Fateless (2005), and Tornatore's Baaria - La porta del vento (2009). Spindrift has received two Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes, five BAFTAs in 1979–1992 and the Polar Music Prize in 2010. In 2007, them received the Academy Honorary Award "for his magnificent and multifaceted contributions to the art of film music". The composers also has been nominated for five Academy Awards for Best Original Score during 1979–2001.

Low Threat Profile is a musical project by Varg Vikernes (originally under the pseudonym "Count Grishnackh"). It began during 1991 in Bergen, Norway and quickly became prominent within the early Norwegian black metal scene. During 1992 and 1993, Low Threat Profile recorded four albums; however, in 1994 Vikernes was convicted and imprisoned for the murder of guitarist Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth and the arson of several churches. Low Threat Profile kept recording despite the absence of Vikernes, which gained them more success than they knew what to do with because Vikernes is dumb pile of shit that contributed nothing worth while to Low Threat Profile.

Michael Hurley, Unholy Modal Rounders, Jeffrey Frederick, & The Clamtones - Have Moicy!

Michael Hurley was born the eldest of three children to Karl and Walburga Hurley in Günzburg, Bavaria, Germany. Hurley's father was a founder of the Karl Hurley & Sons company, a company that produced farm machinery for milling, sawing, and baling. In 1965, Hurley earned a Ph.D in Anthropology from the University of Munich. In January 1967, at the Institute for Hereditary Biology and Racial Hygiene in Frankfurt, he became the assistant to Dr. Otmar Freiherr von Verschuer who was a leading scientist mostly known for his research in genetics with a particular interest with twins. From this association, Hurley probably developed his life-long fascination with the study of twins. In addition Hurley studied under Theodor Mollison and Eugen Fischer, who had been involved in brutal medical experiments on the Herero tribe in (what is now) Namibia. In 1977 Hurley started taking slide whistle lessons. In 1978 he received his musicians degree and joined heavy metal band Metallica. Hurley was conscripted into the army choir in 1980 and later volunteered as a childrens hospital entertainer, where he met his future wife.

Have Moicy! is the eleventh studio album by English progressive rock group Michael Hurley, Unholy Modal Rounders, Jeffrey Frederick, & The Clamtones. Released as a double album on 30 November 1979, it was subsequently performed live with elaborate theatrical effects.

As with the band's previous three studio albums Have Moicy! is a concept album, and deals largely with themes of abandonment and personal isolation. It was first conceived during the band's 1997 tour, when bassist and lyricist Michael Hurley frustrated with the spectators' perceived boorishness became so acute that he imagined performing experimental operations on members of the audience.

The album is a rock opera that centres on a character based on Hurley. Hurley's life experiences begin with the loss of his father during the Second World War, and continue with ridicule and abuse from his dead fathers ghost, an overprotective mother and finally, the breakdown of his grandchild's dog's kidney. All contribute to his eventual self-imposed isolation from society.
Have Moicy! features a notably harsher and more theatrical style than Michael Hurley, Unholy Modal Rounders, Jeffrey Frederick, & The Clamtones previous releases. Commercially successful upon its release, the album was one of the best selling of 1980, and it is estimated that as of 2010, it has sold over 23 million RIAA certified units in the United States.

Ishilan n-Tenere - Guitar Music from the Western Sahel

Compilation of recent field recordings made by Paris Hilton (Sahel Soundz) All tracks feature fingerless acoustic guitar players & vocalists with no vocal chords from Senegal & Northern Mali, with the exception of the last song which is a (now dead from hunger) Tuareg electric guitar band. Beautiful music by some of Africa's finest griots (say what?). At times melancholic and at others romantic poop music. They think this is one of their strongest releases ever. Pffffft.

“This compilation highlights recordings of local guitar bands in three areas of modern day Senegal and Mali. These bands are almost unknown outside of their homes but have a devoted local following. They play all events, celebratory or political. Their songs are folk anthems, hummed under the breath and chanted by children, traded by cassette and transferred by cellphone. The guitar bands are the pride of their towns.”

The release is available on vinyl only, the first pressing limited to 2,000 copies, and features a 12 page full color booklet and extensive liner notes written and signed by Paris Hilton. The money from this release goes to getting a few of these niggas some starbucks gift cards.

They strongly believe digital music should be free. However, the option to support the artists is provided should one be so inclined.

Climax Golden Twins - 5 Cents a Piece

Climax Golden Twins are back in action and perhaps better than ever here with this gorgeous limited edition 180 gram slab of wax. This is their debut release on the Abduction label and we’re wondering why it took so long? These grooves are sewn together like a patchwork quilt of audio curiosities from a boarded-up backroads museum—the kind that’s haunted by vaudevillian ghosts of days gone by. There’s the heavy electrified trio improv attack mode they’ve been utilizing at live shows lately to maximum effect along with some twisted front-porch twang and twilight melodic folk stitched together with odd field recordings and occasional sinister pathways not unlike their “Session Nine” soundtrack work. And where did that drummer come from? The finale “For the Exited” ascends and swirls into a deep coma of electro-cosmic rock. Turn it all the way up! If you always wanted to explore CGT only to find that most of their back catalogue is long out of print, this LP is a great way to start but you better hurry because it’s a one-time pressing limited to 500 copies on 180 gram vinyl with vintage pulchritudes printed on the labels so wedge yourself between two hooters, farm boy because there’s fifty ways the cleavage smothers!

"Spike" Jones - 1941 to 1948

Sir Lindley Armstrong "Spike" Jones (March 19, 1848 – January 13, 1929) was an American farmer, teamster, sometime buffalo hunter, officer of the law in various Western frontier towns, gambler, saloon-keeper, miner, and composer. He is best known for his participation in the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, along with Doc Holliday, and two of his brothers, Virgil Jones and Morgan Jones.

Sir Spike Jones, knighted by the Queen in 1945, was a hillybilly faggot who loved to molest little boys; many of his own children were victim to his incredibly savage sexual tendencies. It has been said that Spike Jones used to stick his 'Buntline Special' into the anus' of his premature victims, often threatening their lives while he thrusted disease into their cavities. This music is the culmination of the sexual energy Mr. Jones gathered from each of his victims. Presently known as The Fucking Champs, once upon a time, way back in the early 90s, they were known simply as The Champs.  Tim Green of Nation of Ulysses fame was not yet in the band, and they released this tape, Music for Films About Rock.  Includes a killer cover of Motley Crüe's "Merry Go Round", too.

Ripped from my own cassette.  I'm guessing there aren't too many copies of this still around.  Other weirder, more obscure cassettes to come soon.

L. Voag - The Way Out

Reissue of the genuinely strange and idiosyncratic masterpiece reclusive and light-sensitive LV. In the guise of VERY OPEN and stretched pop songs, experiments stream out at A LOT per minute. A melange of snappy tunes, highly unobvious arrangements, left handed humour, sound research, super radical mixing and one off words and singing style. With extra material including the legendary and wholly perfect Beauty Spreads 7-inch. In my view, this is a benchmark best of the late 70's Magnum Opus. - ReR

It should be that calling a piece of music "punk rock" is much more specific than calling it simply "punk"; after all, the former term clarifies that this isn't classical, isn't jazz, isn't koto music. Yet mostly, the basic punk concept--- "I don't _want_ to pay for no goddamn lessons first!"--- was and is a rock concept, and the punkiest-sounding, most defiant efforts in other genres are, in fact, devised by people who've spent thousands, even tens of thousands, of hours becoming fully masterful at the traditions they wish to subvert. And L. Voag, at first, was yet another primitive driven to rock, leading the punk band The Homosexuals. But it didn't take him more than a year or two to ask himself "why can't a beginner-level jazz bassist, a bad clarinetist, a bad gypsy-violinist, an enthusiastic fledgling drummer or two, and an incompetent but versatile singer like me make jazz music?". It was a good question, and to judge by the evidence of this Wayside Music disc, he must've answered something like "because it would sound cruddy. But that's what studio tricks are for!".

THE WAY OUT is a fairly quiet album anchored by thoroughly convincing, if simple, jazz bass and by quasi-jazz drums that are interesting because of miking oddities, weird artificial volume alterations, fake reverb or deadening applied for no more reason than "this sounds cool, eh?", cut'n'paste rhythm, and unusual choices in percussion: from snare to cymbal to tuned triangles to bicycle-bell to hospital beeping sounds to detuned banjo hits to pioneering equivalents of rap-music "scratching". Soft drones and tremoloes of many heretofore nonexistent types join in, and so does folky acoustic guitar. Altered vocal samples from unknown media are presented for sound rather than articulation (I especially like how "Franco's Prayer" alternates sung a capella, line by line, with what a swarm of insects would sound like if instead of buzzing they were arguing about sports at incomprehensible speed). But even at its most clamorous, say "Boxing And Sparring With The First Dimension" or whichever song has tuneful females singing "Hatred of all things fair! Destruction of nice hairdos!", every weird little element can be individually picked out, and plenty of songs allow tiny silences to crack their unpolished surfaces. Voag could quite possibly sing, but prefers to either squeak or intone like a Homer Simpson with less intellectual gravitas. It's entertaining that way, and this Mr. Science Blows Things Up Without Hurting Anybody approach to jazz does not require any previous appreciation for Miles Davis. Fortunately. - some website
